Narmada Bachao Andolan:

1. Narmada Bachao Andolan was started in the 1980s with Medha Patkar and Baba Amte as the face of the Andolan.
2. This Andolan was started by the farmer, social activists, Adivasis, and people across the river bank to help the people displaced by the large-scale construction of the Sardar Sarovar dam.
3. The dam construction lead to the replacement of numerous people staying there due to the slow rehabilitation process initiated by the government.
4. Narmada river runs along with three different states and thus huge population belt was affected.
