The ​success in production of rice and wheat during the green revolution was not replicated in pulses because the demand for rice and wheat was more compared to pulses.Moreover,more efforts was made to increase the ield of rice and whea by using more chemical fertilisers, HYV seeds, modern mehods of farmong etc. Since pulses grow in dry and arid regions and its demand was comparitively less than tat of rice and wheat less effort was made in increasing its yield and production.
