Why was the use of DDT banned?
Increases the growth of weeds in the farms
Several pesticides such as DDT were used to kill pests in agricultural farms, godowns, and even houses. DDT is non-biodegradable and acts as a pollutant harming organisms. DDT that is sprayed in the fields is absorbed by the crop plants and passes on to the humans when they consume it. They are very harmful to all organisms and hence the use of DDT is banned.
