Why wbc are called as body gard of cell

Dear student The main function of WBCS is to protect us from disease causing germs it is provide immunity to the body . This is done in two ways - i) some WBC's around the germs ingest and digest them . ii) some other WBC's produced special chemicals antibodies which destroy the germs . Hence because of above given function WBC are called as body gard of cell. Regards
