Question

Why we have yet not discovered any artificial process using any type of energy (preferably electricity) to convert basic ingredients such as water, carbon dioxide to food items such as carbohydrate similar to what plants do in photosynthesis process?

Solution

Artificial photosynthesis is possible by chemical process by using sunlight,CO2,water.Most of the processes aim at using sunlight. Because sunlight is available in large quantity and free ly available.
Energy conservation by using sunlight is more benificial than developing a method where electricity is used. Because electricity produciton also is a big process. So free energy like sunlight is used in all these techniques. In any case we are getting glucose freely from our suroundings by plants,so it has not reached a commercial scale .
