Question

why we say tangent for circle and not for other shapes

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
A tangent is a straight line or plane that touches a curve or curved surface at a point, but if extended does not cross it at that point.
It is mentioned in definition that it touches only curve and curved surface and not the plane ones.
