Question

why wheels of vehicle are made circular

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
Wheels of a vehicle are made circular to reduce the frictional force. Rolling friction is less than sliding friction and that is why wheels are circular in shape. Had the wheels been of any other shape, then sliding friction would have come into play and that would have caused more friction and more resistance in the movement of automobiles.
