Why will the temprature of the liquid fall during evaporation?

Evaporation is a surface phenomenon where droplets of liquid get converted into the gaseous phase from the surface of the liquid. Now, this phase conversion requires heat which the droplet in the upper portion takes from the droplets in the lower region of the liquid. Thus, when evaporation takes place the temperature of the liquid falls.
