Open in App
Solution

Endocrine gland:

  1. An endocrine gland is the one that pours its secretion directly into the bloodstream.
  2. They do not transfer their secretions into any ducts.
  3. Examples of endocrine glands are the pituitary, pancreas, etc.

The pancreas is an endocrine gland because:

  1. It pours its secretion which is insulin, directly into the main bloodstream.
  2. It also produces another enzyme i.e pancreatic amylase which passes through a pancreatic duct.
  3. Therefore, technically pancreas is an endo-exo pancreatic duct.
