Franklin's high resolution photographs of crystallised fibre of DNA and
their elaborations of Wilkins helped Watson and Crick to correctly
arrange the nucleotides and decide that DNA is a double stranded with
two chains running in antiparallel fashion. Such a model had an inbuilt
property of semiconservative replication.
The values shown by Wilkin
were of high calibre. He not only explained the discovery before its
publication but also helped Watson and Crick in one of the biggest
development in biology that has direct impact on human welfare and
welfare of the whole biological world.
