Question

Will always the rays coming from infinity parallel to the principal axis?

Open in App
Solution

No, they are not always parallel to principal axis. The Rays coming from an object atinfinity are parallel to each other but not necessarily parallel to principal axis.

In reality, light rays are never perfectly parallelbecause the distance to their source point is always a finite distance. ... So, in theory, if the distance traveled is approximately infinite, and the separation of the rays is close to zero, then we can call them parallel.
