Will $CC{l}_4$ give white precipitate of $AgCl$ on heating it with silver nitrate? Give reason for your answer.

When an ionic chloride is heated with silver nitrate solution, white precipitate of $AgCl$ is obtained. But if covalent chloride, such as $CC{l}_4$ is heated with silver nitrate solution, no ppt is obtained.
For covalent compounds, Lassaigne's extract is prepared.
