Answer 1 : Wind
- Air constantly moves around the world , that air is known as wind .
- Air in motion is called wind.
Answer 2 : Measuring wind speed as well as direction
- For measuring speed an instrument called Anemometer is used. For knowing the direction Wind vanes are used.
- A cup anemometer measures speed by catching the wind and producing pressure difference inside and outside the cup.
- The pressure difference causes the cup to rotate. An electric switch determines the rotation speed which is proportional to the speed of wind.
- For determining the direction Wind vanes are used.
- The wind vanes has a pointer which points towards the direction of wind as it blows through which the direction can be known.
