Winds are generated due to __ heating of Earth.

Open in App
Solution

The uneven heating of Earth's surface because of sun causes the winds to blow .

  1. As the air absorbs different amount of heat, it makes some places warmer while other places cooler.
  2. When the air becomes warmer, the particles spread out, which means that Air expands on heating. The air become less dense or lighter and so it rises.
  3. When the air cools, it becomes heavier and sinks.
  4. As the air in warmer region rises, the air from cold regions rushes to take its place. Thus, a current of air is produced.
  5. The current of air produced is called as wind.
