with help of an activity, show the effect of temperature on the physical state of water. Explain with the help of a diagram.

1. Water in its different physical states under different temperature is shown as follows:

Ice negative to 0o C - Liquid water 0oC - 100oC - Vapour 100oC - higher temperature

2. This can be studied by the following activity :

(a) Take out ice from freezer and check the temperature. It is near to 0 degrees.
(b) Now, start melting it and when all the ice turns to water, the temperature is again taken, it is found to be room temperature.
(c) After heating on burner for few seconds, we see water turns to vapour. The temperature is above 100 degrees.
