Solution

The correct option is A

Increases

With rise in temperature the electrical conductivity of intrinsic semiconductor increases.

  1. In an intrinsic semiconductor, the gap between the valence band and conduction band is minimum.
  2. The electrons can thus acquire energy in valance band and jump to the conduction band.
  3. When there is a raise in temperature of a semiconductor, the electrons acquire energy which causes them to jump from valence to conduction band.

Thus, on temperature increase the conductivity of an intrinsic semiconductor increases too.
