A neuron is structural and functional unit of nervous system.
It is made up of two parts: main cell body called cyton, a long process called an axon. Cyton or cell body contains a nucleus and the cytoplasmic extensions of the cell body are called dendrites.
From the cell body arises a long process called an axon. Axon ends at axonal end or axonal terminal.
Function: Neuron transmits signals throughout the body.
