With which set of sides is it possible to draw a right triangle.
We know that,
In a right angle triangle,
By Pythagoras theorem,
H2=P2+B2
By part (1):-
Let
Base=3cm.
Hypotenuse=5cm.
Perpendicular=4cm.
Then,
H2=P2+B2
52=42+32
25=16+9
25=25
Hence, it is a right angle triangle.
Part (2):-
All sides are equal
Hence, it is not right angle triangle.
Part (3):-
Two sides are equal and one side not equal then it is not right angle triangle.
Part (4):-
H=7cm.
Base=3cm.
Perpendicular=5cm.
Using Pythagoras theorem,
H2=P2+B2
72=52+32
49=25+9
49≠34
Hence, it is not right angle triangle.
