Question

Without performing actual computations, find the quotient when 94+49 is divided by 11

Open in App
Solution

We know that ab = 10a + b
and ba = 10b + a
now ab+ba = 10a + b +10b + a
= 11a + 11b
= 11 (a+b)
Now Let ab = 94 ( a = 9 , b = 4)
So ba = 49
so 94 +49 = 11 (9+4)
So if we divide 11(9+4) by 11 then the quotient will be = 9+4
= 13
