Without using number line, calculate each of the following:

(-15)+12

Finding the sum of (-15)+12

Here, both numbers are of unlike signs +&-

So, we subtract the absolute values of both the numbers and give the sign of largest absolute value to the result.

i.e., sign of 15, which is "-"

Since absolute value of a number denotes the distance between zero and that number in a number line.

So,

-15=1512=12

So, 15-12=3

Hence, the answer is -3
