Wool gives bad smell whereas silk doesnot gives. Why?

Wool is obtained from the protective covering of animals. Wool is more susceptible to moths and insects as compared to silk. Pesticides are added to wool to reduce attack from pests etc and make them last longer. That is why wool smells bad.
