While converting decimal number into fraction, remove decimal point from the given decimal number . And in its denominator write as many zeroes , as the number of digits in the decimal part, to the right of $1$.

Therefore,

$0.144=\frac{144}{1000}$

$0.02=\frac{2}{100}$

According to the question,

$$\begin{gathered} 0.144÷0.02 \\ =\frac{144}{1000}÷\frac{2}{100} \\ =\frac{144}{1000}\times \frac{100}{2} \\ =\frac{72}{10}=7.2 \end{gathered}$$
Therefore, $0.144÷0.02=$ $7.2$
