Question

Write a balanced chemical reaction when potassium iodide reacts with lead nitrate?

Open in App
Solution

When potassium iodide reacts with lead nitrate it gives lead iodide which is a yellow precipitate and potassium nitrate.

Chemical reaction:

Pb(NO3)2(aq)+KI(aq)PbI2(s)+KNO3(aq)

The equation in which the number of atoms of all the molecules is equal on both sides of the equation is known as a balanced chemical equation.

Now, balancing the above chemical reaction

Pb(NO3)2(aq)+2KI(aq)PbI2(s)+2KNO3(aq)

Therefore, the above chemical reaction is balanced.
