Solution:

History is mainly divided into three periods, ancient, medieval and modern. The period between the ancient and modern period is the medieval period.

It stretches from the 8th to 18th century. During this time India witnessed many changes in economy, religion and society. The end of the medieval period in India is noted by the breaking up of the Mughal empire and the advent of British rule. The medieval period is further divided into two, early medieval and late medieval period. The early medieval period signifies the time from 8th to 13th century and the late medieval period denotes the time from 8th to 13th century.
