Solution

Diversity is a value that is shown in mutual respect and appreciation of the similarities and differences such as age, culture, education, ethnicity, experience, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc, that make people unique. An environment where diversity is respected is on where as individuals, and united as members of teams, we can effectively apply all our out talents, skills and experiences in pursuit of business objectives to our competitive advantage. Demographic characteristics are the background characteristics that help what a person becomes.
The other day someone presented me with a lovely bouquet. Sprigs of blue orchids, deep pink gladioli, a big bright orange rose and lots of ferns-seemingly clashing in color, texture and fragrance; but the total effect-just stunning! Each quality offsetting the individuality of the other; and yet merging to form a unified whole!
Such is diversity. It adds zing to life. In fact, God intended the world to be diverse. He has painted the vast canvas of the universe with diverse creatures and objects that are unique in character.
Look at the rich bio-diversity that exists among our fauna and flora. The ones that exist on deserts are different from that of the seas and the skies and the mountains. Some swim, some crawl and some fly. There are the beautiful peacocks proudly strutting with their gold speckled feathers, the eagles that scale the dizzying heights, the flightless ostriches, kiwis and our own home grown hens; each serving their own functions in life. There are the majestic lions, the fierce tigers, the lovable jumbos and the cute cats and dogs. The thorny but the most beautiful roses, the stately lilies, the pink lotus, the carnations, the cacti, the fir trees, the maple trees, the coconut trees, the poplars and the casuarinas-there is infinite variety that makes this world a veritable paradise.
There are the Whites, the Blacks and the Browns, the blondes, the brunettes, the raven-haired ones, the blue eyed, the emerald eyed, the brown and the black eyed people inhabiting the different lands. They live in continents that have geographical and climatic variations. People think in different ways; have different aspirations, ways of life, attitude and behavioral patterns. This diversity is what that makes life interesting.
Diverse ideas have led to the progress in the world. If all the people had thought alike, worked alike, there would not have been so many inventions and discoveries in this world. There would not have been such rich choice in art, literature, dances and songs.
This is the unique quality that gives our land the pride of place. People of many religions, caste and creed-performing their rituals, celebrating their own festivals, speaking different languages, attired in dresses unique to their culture-where else in the world can one see such diversity? Yet here is this amazing co-existence of diversity in this largest democracy of the world. An invisible thread of harmony binds the different people. There is mutual tolerance and respect for each other that enable our land to progress through centuries. Yes, India is a perfect example of Unity in Diversity. It is the same factor that will lead to our vision of the world as a global village.
In order to survive, humanity also has to sing a harmonious song. The secret lies in maintaining diversity and individuality but, at the same time attain unity in diversity.
