Gurugram is called the Millennium City. It is a planned city with well boasting infrastructure. Lately, it has been under the scanner of the Government due to its misuse of potable water and due to this 21 places in the city are facing severe water crisis.
1. It is said that water forms the major portion of Earth's surface.
2. But the amount of water that is potable to fulfil the basic needs of population is very less
3. Water is mainly required for drinking, cooking, washing clothes, bathing, etc
4. Most of the water resources like rivers, lakes, wells etc are polluted by man by cleaning clothes in rivers, bathing of animals in rivers, etc
5. Industries nowadays are discharging wastes which are toxic and dangerous to mankind. This in turn makes water unfit for domestic purposes
6. Also underground water are most extensively used nowadays by digging deep bore wells which in turn makes the ground water level deteriorates
7. These are the main reasons why India is facing water scarcity in the recent years.
8. People should learn the importance of water and treat it as precious source
