Dear Sir,
Subject : Application for The Post of A Junior Clerk
With reference to your advertisement in yesterday’s TIMES OF INDIA, I beg to apply for the post of a junior clerk in your office.
I am now twenty-four-year old and a graduate of the Delhi University. I took my degree in 2004 in English, History, Mathematics and Economics. I also passed in the additional subject (Hindi) in B.A. I have completed a year’s course in typewriting, shorthand, book-keeping and commercial correspondence. The certificates I enclose show that I scored a high percentage in all those subjects.
For the past two years I have been working as a correspondence clerk in the office of a co-operative society - New Delhi where my work acquired a thorough knowledge of official correspondence and typewriting. The testimonial from the manager which I enclose will show that my work has been highly appreciated.
I hope you will consider my application favourably. If I am given the appointment, I may assure you that I shall try my best to discharge duties to your entire satisfaction.
Yours Faithfully,
R.K. Josiah
