Artificial acquired active immunity is the type of immunity which is acquired artificially by vaccination. Vaccines contain dead or live but attenuated (weakened) pathogens or toxoids consisting of microbial components or toxins secreted by the pathogens. The vaccine is introduced into the body to stimulate the formation of antibodies by the immune system. For example, polio vaccine available which helps to provide protection from poliomyelitis.
