Biodegradable waste:
It is a form of waste that can be degraded by other living organisms, usually coming from plant or animal sources.[1 Mark]
Examples of biodegradable wastes are food waste, fruit peels, windy and ripped paper pieces, human waste, pieces of chalk, paper containers, and so on. [1 Mark]
Non-Biodegradable waste:
It is a form of waste that cannot be broken down by natural organisms and acts as a source of pollution. [1 Mark]
Examples of non-biodegradable wastes are fibres, shoes, metals, hazardous substances, pesticides, consumer items such as plastic bags, shopping bags, plastic containers and plastic water bottles and so on. [1 Mark]
