Cells:

  1. Cells are the basic building blocks of living things.
  2. It is responsible for all life's processes.
  3. There are two distinct types of cells:
  1. Prokaryotes.
  2. Eukaryotes.

i) Prokaryotic Cells-

  1. Prokaryotes are single-celled microorganisms that include bacteria.
  2. Prokaryotic cells do not have a well-defined nucleus.
  3. Instead, the genetic material is suspended freely in the cell (nucleoid)

ii) Eukaryotic Cells:

  1. Eukaryotes are unicellular or multicellular.
  2. Eukaryotic cells have a well-defined nucleus.
  3. Genetic material (DNA) is properly packed in the nucleus.

Essential characteristics of cells:

  1. Cells provide structure and support the growth of the body.
  2. Cells have a nucleus that acts as the "brain of the cell" as it regulates all cell activities.
  3. The nucleus also carries genetic material that plays a major role in growth and reproduction.
