Solution

Cellulose is fibrous homopolysaccharide of high tensile strength which forms structural elements of cell wall in all plants, some fungi and protists. It consists of a linear unbranched chain of 6000 or more β 1 -4 linked glucose residues. Some 2000 molecules of cellulose occur in a bundle to form a structure element called microfibril.
