Nucleus and its components:

1. A small double membranous structure present in the cytoplasm of the cells is the nucleus.
2. Membrane which surrounds the nucleus is known as the nuclear membrane inside of which a colorless fluid is present called the nucleoplasm.
3. Nucleoplasm contains one or more spherical bodies called nucleoli.
4. A network of thread-like structures called chromatin are present in the nucleoplasm of the cell.
5. Chromatin network forms chromosomes which comprises genes.
6. Genes are responsible for the transfer of characters from parents to offspring.
