Solution:

Udupi district receives the highest rainfall in the Mysuru division.
  • The Udupi district was formed in 1997 by dividing the Dakshina Kannada district.
  • Udupi has areca nut and coconut groves, and paddy fields.
  • The famous Mookambika Temple is on the Kodachadri hills.The Udupi Shri Krishna Temple is also located in the district. The forty-two feet idol of Gommateshwara of Karkala is also popular.
  • The Rastrakavi Govinda Pai research centre is in Udupi. Malpe, Manipal, Kundapur, Mandarthi, Kota, Kapu, and Barkur, are some of the popular places situated in this district. Malpe is an all-season fishing port, and St.Mary’s island is a popular tourist place located near Malpe.
Mandya district receives the lowest rainfall in the Mysuru division.
  • The Mandya district was formed in the year 1938 by dividing the Mysuru district. India’s first big sugar factory was started here in the year 1933.
  • Srirangapatna located in this district is a historical and religious centre, and was the capital city of the Wodeyar dynasty till 1799.
  • There are many Masjids, arms depots and forts, which were constructed by Tippu Sultan in this district.
  • The Krishnarajsagara Dam built across River Cauvery, is the lifeline of Mandya district, and it provides irrigation facilities to the districts of Mandya and Mysuru. This was built under the guidance of Sir M. Vishveshwaraiah, and was named after Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, who was instrumental in its construction.
