Cell Characteristics:

  1. Cells provide the basic structure and support of an organism’s body.
  2. The cell's interior is divided into numerous individual organelles, surrounded by a membrane.
  3. The nucleus stores the genetic material needed for cell growth and reproduction.
  4. Each cell has a single nucleus in the cytoplasm and one membrane-bound organelle.
  5. Mitochondria is a double membrane-bound organelle and is primarily responsible for energy transactions.
  6. The lysosomes digest the cell debris.
  7. The endoplasmic reticulum has an essential role in the cell’s internal organization by synthesizing and processing specific molecules.
