There were many rulers who ruled it,one among the mughal emperor who ruled Bengal was Shah Alam.
He appointed the east India company as the diwan of Bengal on 12th august 1765.
The mughals borrowed Tomb architecture feature of Bengal .
It arouse as an autonomous state under Murshid Quli Khan.
Murshidabad was made it's capital.
