Write a paragraph about panchasheel and the policy of Non - Alignment.

Pancha sheel

India is called by the name of 'A Great Peace Maker'. It followed five principles which are popularly known as 'Pancha sheel'. Jawaharlal Nehru laid stress on these five principles.

1. Each country should respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of others.

2.No country should attack any other country.

3.No one should try to interfere in the internal affairs of others.

4.AII country shall strive for equality and mutual benefit.

S.Every country should try to follow the policy of peaceful coexistence.

Non - Alignment Movement
i) After the second world war, the world got divided into hostile blocs under America and Russia
ii) The strategy of newly independent states of Asia, Africa, and South America to keep themselves away from the power blocs in order to protect their independence is known as Non-Alignment. Thus NAM is the movement of the newly independent countries or third world countries which aims at maintaining their independent status on international issues.

iii) India did not join any difference of opinion between these two blocs, substantially contributed towards world peace
