We know that the Indian Armed Forces are divided into three groups, and they are:

1. Indian Army
2. Indian Air Force
3. Indian Navy

Indian Army is based on land. Indian Air Force is based on the air while the Indian Navy is based on the water. In the world, Indian army is the second largest with close to 1.23 million personnel on the active roles and with 9.6 lakhs roles on reserve. Indian army is responsible for protecting the country against the land based attacks. It also helps in terrorism and other emergency situations such as natural calamities.
