1.Surface water is found over the land surface like pond, rivers,marshes,lakes and reservoir etc. whereas ground water is found beneath the earth's surface.Water on the surface gradually seeps down saturating the underground rocks.
2.Surface water is affected by physical variables such as soil, topography, land cover and mineralogy while ground-water is mainly affected by geologic conditions.
3.Surface water gets easily contaminated than ground water.
