• The Patricians were the elite people like land owners while the Plebeians were the common people like ordinary workers, small landowners, and artisans.
• Patricians controlled the Senate while the Plebeians' rights were limited.
• Plebeians were meant to pay taxes and to undergo punishment.
• The other class of the society included slaves who were the private property of their owners.
