There were majorly 2 classes in Roman Society, namely Patricians & Plebeians.
The Patricians were the elite people like land owners while the Plebeians were the common people like ordinary workers, small landowners, and artisans.
Patricians controlled the Senate while the Plebeians' rights were limited.
Plebeians were meant to pay taxes and to undergo punishment.
The other class of the society included slaves who were the private property of their owners.
