Open in App
Solution

Dear student

The blood vessels are a part of the circulatory system which transports blood throughout the human body. These vessels transport nutrients and oxygen to the tissues of the body.
They also take waste and carbon dioxide and carry them away from the tissues and back to the heart which are thrown out of the body.

Types of blood vessels
1. Arteries
2. Capillaries
3. Veins
4. Sinusoids

Arteries carry blood from the heart. They eventually branch into smaller branches called arterioles.

Capillaries allows the exchange of chemicals and water between the tissues and blood. Exchange of blood takes place between blood tissues and capillaries.

Veins carries blood from the capillaries back towards the heart. They have much thinner walls compared to arteries.

Sinusoids are very small vessels located within the bone marrow, liver and spleen.
