These vertebrates are fully adapted to live on land. Their body is covered with spiny epidermal scales.

• Respiration is through lungs. The heart is three chambered with an exemption of crocodiles, which have four-chambered heart.
• Most of the reptiles lay their eggs with tough outer shell
