Solution

Fundamental rights are those basic rights provided to Indian citizens to live a peaceful life. There are six fundamental rights in the Indian constitution mentioned in part III of it.

Fundamental rights are:

  • Right to equality
  • Right to freedom
  • Right against exploitation
  • Right to freedom of religion
  • Cultural and Educational rights
  • Right to constitutional remedies.

Though the majority rules in a democracy, democratic government has to respect the rights of minorities and guarantee their protection. Judiciary plays a role in the protection of these fundamental rights and thereby protecting freedom of people.
