Mass selection is one of the most important methods which is used in plant breeding. This is the type of breeding method used for the self pollinated plants. A large population of plants are selected in this method. The plants are grown and the seeds are harvested. The seeds are mixed and the mixed varieties are grown. The plants from this group are selected and used for self or cross pollination. There are two types of method in which mass selection is performed, Hallet and Rimpar method. The environmental conditions, water and fertilizers are the features which are controlled in these experiments.
