Dracunculus medinensis or Guinea worm is a nematode and lay its egg in water and consuming this contaminated water causes dracunculiasis or Guinea worm disease or 'naru' disease. This disease had once created havoc in Rajasthan. Thanks to untiring efforts by the health workers, this disease has been eradicated from Rajasthan.
