Neutrons were discovered by J. Chadwick in the year of 1932.
Neutrons unlike the protons and electrons has no electrical charge associated with them. But these particles has a mass nearly equal to that of protons. Hence, these particles don't affect the neutrality of an atom but is a major component of the mass of an atom. The neutrons are a part of the nucleus.
