Ovum is the female cell produced in the ovary of a female. Sperm is the male cell produced in the testis. Sperm cells are the smallest cell in the male body. Ovum, also known as egg cell and is the largest cell in the female body.
The male gamete which is long, motile, flagellated cell and is differentiated into head, neck, middle piece and tail. Cytoplasm is present in large amounts. Sperms are surrounded by the plasma membrane. The nucleus contains X or Y chromosome.
