The Federal Assembly is the National Legislature of Russia, The state Duma is the lower house while the Federation council is the upper house. Both the houses are located in Moscow.The chairman of the Federation Council holds an important position after the president and prime minister. In case of incapacity of the president or the prime minister, the chairman becomes the acting president.
The jurisdiction of the State Duma consists of -consent to the appointment of the chairman of the government, appointment and dismissal of the chairman of the central bank,appointment and dismissal of the commissioner of Human Rights, etc
The jurisdiction of the Federation council consists of- approval of changes in the subjects of the Russian Federation,appointment of the election of the president, appointment of the president, dismissal of the president, appointment of the judges of the higher court of Russia, etc.
