1. The pituitary gland is a pea sized structure located at the base of the brain below hypothalamus.
2. It is called master gland because it secretes tropic hormone which controls other organ by stimulating them.
3. Few hormones secreted by them are growth hormone, anti-diuretic hormone, oxytocin and thyroid stimulating hormone.
