North America is the third largest continent in the world after Asia and Africa. It consists of the United States of America (USA), Canada, and Mexico which occupy 95% of the continent's area including countries in Central America and the islands of the Caribbeans. Central America includes Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica, and Honduras. West Indies is also located in North America which includes countries like Puerto Rico, Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic.​

• Canada is the largest country in North America which occupies almost half of the total area. ​
• Greenland is the largest island in the world, and it lies in North America although controlled by Denmark.
