On the basis of their renewability or exhaustibility, resources can be broadly classified into renewable and non-renewable resources.
Renewable resources: There are some resources that are unlimited. They are not going to get exhausted, for example, air, light, and wind. These resources get renewed quickly. The resources which are unlimited and not affected by human activities are called renewable resources.
Non-renewable resources: These resources have limited stock and take thousands of years to get renewed or replenished. Fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas are some examples of non-renewable resources.
